Where Pickwiseo data comes from.
We prioritize public/government data and first-party provider or manufacturer pages. We intentionally avoid building a copied database of Google Maps, Yelp reviews, third-party photos or long-form copyrighted descriptions.
Tier A — public / government
Preferred for stable factual data such as U.S. broadband availability or vehicle identity records. Examples include FCC broadband data and NHTSA vPIC.
Tier B — first-party official
Provider/manufacturer websites are used for factual plan names, speeds, product specifications, official location directories and date-stamped price snapshots.
Tier C — licensed APIs later
Live third-party APIs can enrich results after traffic grows, but only under their current terms, attribution rules and caching/storage limits.
Current safe-seed coverage
The initial database is deliberately curated rather than scraped. v15 expands breadth with catalog-level records and preserves detailed verification for higher-value comparisons. It is meant to provide useful breadth before automated licensed data feeds are introduced.
What we store
Facts, not copied editorial text
Brand, model, plan name, connection type, speed, service category, market, selected specifications, official source URL and verification date.
Price snapshots only when verified
Prices and promotions can change quickly. If a reliable first-party price was not verified, Pickwiseo shows “Check official price” instead of guessing.
No copied review database
We do not copy Google Maps/Yelp reviews, star ratings, photos or large blocks of third-party descriptions into the seed database.
Availability and local services
An official directory listing does not necessarily mean a provider serves a user’s exact address today. Local pages therefore use language such as “candidate,” “selected market,” and “check exact address,” with a link back to the provider.
Future automation
When traffic justifies API cost, seed records can be replaced or refreshed by scheduled licensed feeds while keeping the same internal schema: source, verification date, market, availability note and freshness status.
